Share the medical plan
Tell the acupuncturist which stage of IVF you are in, what your fertility team has asked you to do and whether any medical restriction applies. Ask which practitioner will provide care and how they communicate with the reproductive clinic if scheduling or symptoms change. The practice's official IVF page describes several cycle phases, but your actual appointments should follow the treating team's protocol.
Ask for evidence and boundaries
If a clinician proposes visits to improve egg quality, implantation or live birth, request the outcome evidence behind that claim. ASRM and NCCIH do not support a transfer-day live-birth benefit. It is clearer to discuss a concrete supportive goal, such as how you will handle appointment stress, without re-labeling it as a fertility success intervention.
Review products and payment
Request a complete price for consultations, follow-ups and any optional herbs. Provide a product list to the fertility clinic before taking anything. Ask what happens to prepaid visits if an IVF cycle is delayed or canceled. These administrative questions can prevent a supportive service from creating new stress.
Questions and answers
Should the acupuncturist change my IVF medicine schedule?
Medication and procedure decisions belong with the fertility team. Any proposed change should be discussed with that team first.
